Dear MLS Parents,
The windy weather over the past few days has created the perfect opportunity for students to curl up with a good book as we wrap up the final days of our Readathon.
This is a friendly reminder that pledge sheets and fundraising are due Wednesday, April 29 at 2:30 PM to be eligible for our much-anticipated prizes. Students have the chance to be Principal, Assistant Principal, PE teacher, Music teacher, or a classroom teacher for a day, one Friday this May. All funds raised will support School Council fundraising efforts for a new playground, with the target of building in 2027. Pledges can be submitted by cash or cheque (payable to McKenzie Lake School Council).
Thursday’s Anything but a Backpack Day was a great success and truly showcased the creativity of our students. Backpacks were swapped out for items such as suitcases, tool bags, laundry hampers, toy grocery carts—and even a blender! Thank you to our student leadership team for organizing such fun and engaging spirit days throughout the year.
Families can expect an order form to come home on Monday for the MLS Spring Family Beach Dance, hosted by our School Council. Tickets are $5 per family, and order forms are due Friday, May 1.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, the event will be divided into two time slots based on last names:
- L–Z: 6:15–7:15 PM
- A–K: 7:30–8:30 PM
