Dear McKenzie Lake Families,
Thursday evening the school was buzzing with excitement from our Grades 3-5 students ready to perform for a crowd of almost 500 people. From the adults waving at their children on stage and children at everyone the recognized in the audience, I am not sure who was more excited from the Winter Celebration. We would like to thank Ms. Kvicala for all her time and dedication putting this amazing show together and to our incredible staff for their continued flexibility during dress rehearsals as students prepared for their Thursday afternoon and evening performances.
For the last week of school before Winter Break, each day has a theme that students and staff are invited to participate in. Monday starts off with Winter Sports Fan Day, followed by something different each day and ending with a classic – Pajama Day on Friday.
Our Grade 5 students have been doing morning announcements and classroom presentations related to their social action project to support the Mustard Seed. They will be hosting their second popcorn sale next week. Students wanting to purchase a bag of popcorn can bring $2.50 on Wednesday, December 20. Grade 5 students are also accepting donations for the Mustard Seed this week (e.g. adult mitts/gloves, travel mugs, transit tickets, shampoo, body wash, men's shaving products, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.).

Sincerely,
Dayna McComish
