Dear McKenzie Lake Families,

This week our Grade 1 students had an exciting day at TELUS Spark for their field trip, where they dove into an interactive science program. They explored how different materials and products can physically change when mixed together, making many careful observations with all their senses. The students loved exploring the exhibits, especially the virtual reality experiences and many hands-on learning activities. A crowd favourite was the mirror maze, where students had a blast trying to navigate the twists and turns! A huge thank you to the wonderful parent volunteers who joined us, and to the Parent Council for sponsoring the cost of our bus, making this day of learning and fun possible for all the Grade 1s.

Since there’s no school on the official Valentine’s Day, students had a fantastic time celebrating a day of love and kindness today. Some students made cards for friends and family, and there was a lot of excitement as they exchanged Valentine’s cards with one another. We hope each of you enjoys a wonderful Valentine's and Family Day with your loved ones during this extended long weekend!
