Dear McKenzie Lake Families,

Welcome back to school and to 2025! Monday morning was filled with excitement as students eagerly lined up outside, ready to share stories of their holiday adventures. It’s heartening to see so many students enthusiastic about returning to school!

As we get back into the swing of things, we kindly ask families to ensure students arrive on time. The first bell rings at 7:50 AM, and classes begin promptly at 8:00 AM. By the time the second bell rings, students should already be in their classrooms, seated, and ready to learn. While we understand the holiday break may have disrupted routines, it’s important to re-establish punctuality to support both your child’s learning and the overall classroom environment.

Many of you may have heard about our Fashion Show Fridays, where selected classes are tasked with taking items from the Lost and Found to each classroom in an attempt to reunite them with their owners. Please note that any unclaimed items after January 31 will be donated. We encourage families to visit the Lost and Found in the next couple of weeks to check for any missing items.

Kindergarten Registration for September 2025

Kindergarten registration for September 2025 opens on January 13, 2025. Please note that preference for AM or PM placement is NOT first come, first served. Anyone who submits a completed registration form online between January 13 and March 14, 2025, will have an equal opportunity for their first preference (AM or PM). Further information about AM and PM placements will be shared as we approach March 14.

Currently, McKenzie Lake School is only accepting kindergarten registrations for students designated to our school, including those from McKenzie Lake, Rangeview, and Richardo Ranch. If you live in New Brighton or Seton, please register at your designated school, and if they are in an overflow situation, you will be notified as your registration is processed.

For children to be eligible to register and attend kindergarten in September 2025, they must turn five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2025.
