Dear McKenzie Lake Families,
A student told me on Friday morning, the radio stated it was the coldest morning in Calgary since the 1960s - definitely not the most ideal way to start 2024! With the cold continuing this weekend, I hope everyone has the opportunity to sleep in, stay in the PJs a little longer and enjoy the comfort of their warm home. We will keep our fingers crossed that next week includes a few outdoor recess opportunities.
A reminder that Monday is a PD Day, and there is no school for students.
Child and Youth Well-Being: A Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health. The next session is titled Teen Brain Development and will be held on January 18, 2024 from 6:30-8:30pm. Click here to learn more.
2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration
Monday, January 15 families are able to begin registering their children for kindergarten. Click here for information regarding kindergarten registration. Please note that you will be asked to note if you prefer an AM or PM kindergarten placement, but this is not guaranteed. AM/PM class placements will be confirmed after we have determined how many AM and PM classes we are able to accommodate for the 2024-2025 school year. Further information will be emailed to families once their registration has been processed by the school. Registrations are not confirmed until all required documentation has been uploaded.

It is important that you inform the school if your child is going to be absent or arriving late. Please report all absences to the Attendance Line at 403-777-6500 ext. 1 or email:
