Dear McKenzie Lake Families,

What a week it has been at McKenzie Lake School, beginning with the Wolf Moon and wrapping up with the arrival of a polar vortex! As we head into the weekend and prepare for more cold temperatures, we’d like to remind parents whose children take the bus on Monday morning to wait with their child at the bus stop, as there may be delays due to the frigid weather. We want to make sure all of our students stay safe and warm.

This week has been full of fun and excitement here at school. The MLS staff engaged in a snowball fight (using cotton snowballs!), and it has been a huge hit with the students. Many of them have been eagerly trying to figure out which staff members have been hit and are out of the game, and which ones are still standing strong. Some teachers even assigned students to secret missions to gather intel on the location of their next target. We’re excited to see who will emerge victorious next week!

It was wonderful to see some new parents attending the virtual School Council meeting on Wednesday evening. This is a great opportunity to learn about what is happening at McKenzie Lake School and discover ways you can get involved. Remember, the School Council meets every third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Finally, a friendly reminder that Thursday will be Pajama Day, so don’t forget to wear your coziest pajamas to school!

Stay warm and enjoy the weekend!

Sincerely,

Dayna McComish
