Dear McKenzie Lake Families,

Students will definitely want to be at school this week, as Ms. Kisil has something special planned for Physical Education! We’re excited for the students to learn rugby from one of the Alberta Rugby coaches, and we’ll be sure to share some highlights about their experiences in next week’s message.

We would also like to congratulate Mrs. Cox on her victory this week! She outwitted, outplayed, and outlasted 56 staff members to be crowned the champion of our Snowball Fight competition. Mrs. Afrishina and Mrs. Brutsky, our Lunch Supervisors, placed second and third—well done to them as well!

On Monday, January 27, your child’s report card will be accessible through your MyCBE account. We recommend downloading a copy and saving it, as report cards are not archived from year to year for parents to access. This year, our report card comments may look a bit different from previous years, as the CBE has provided a standardized format for all schools to follow. Students in Grades 1-5 will have their achievement reported in all subject areas, while Kindergarten students will have achievement reported in literacy and mathematics, with all subject areas included in the June report. All students will receive comments on their strengths and areas for growth in both English Language Arts and Mathematics.
