Dear McKenzie Lake Families,
Our Kindergarten students did a fantastic job performing for parents this week at their Kindergarten Celebration! The graduating class of 2037 is off to a great start—the emcees were outstanding, and the students shone with enthusiasm and personality during their performances. We loved seeing their dreams of becoming teachers, food tasters, wrestlers, welders, and more. It will be exciting to see how those dreams evolve in the years to come. Thank you to all the parents who were able to take time out of their day to join us for this special event.
On Monday, we look forward to celebrating our oldest students as they prepare to transition to middle school. They are excited to host their families on Monday afternoon for their own celebration!
On Thursday morning, staff and students will gather together to say farewell to our Grade 5s and a few staff members:
- Mrs. Mouck has made the exciting decision to retire and already has a few travel adventures planned.
- Ms. Nettleton has accepted a System Intervention Learning Leader position with the CBE.
We will also be saying goodbye (for now) to teachers Mrs. Cox, Ms. Kisil, Ms. Hari and Education Assistant Mrs. Azizuddin.
Yearbooks
On Friday, yearbooks were distributed to students that ordered online through LifeTouch. Once we have confirmed all orders were received, without error – we will inform parents on Tuesday evening if there are any extra copies available for purchase at the office Wednesday morning. Should a few copies become available, they will be available on a first come, first serve basis for $25 (cash only) at the main office.
Lost and Found Reminder
Our Lost and Found is overflowing and ready for “shopping”! If you have a chance, please stop by the school to check for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated or packed up after school on Wednesday.
Year-End Reminders
A quick reminder that the last day of school is Thursday, with dismissal at 12:15 p.m.
Outstanding School Fees
Please log into your MyCBE account to ensure all fees have been paid. We still have several outstanding fees related to field trips and student supplies.
Thank you for your continued support as we wrap up another great school year!
Sincerely,
Dayna McComish
