Dear MLS Families,

On Wednesday, students attended an Earth Rangers presentation focused on animal conservation. This high-energy, multimedia experience was designed to inspire and empower students. It included live games, stunning visuals, and engaging storytelling to teach students about wildlife, ecosystems, and environmental solutions. Thanks to corporate sponsorship, this presentation was provided to McKenzie Lake School at no cost to the school or students. It was a highly engaging event that left many students feeling inspired.

Last week, our Grade 5 students went on a field trip to the Hangar Flight Museum in support of their science curriculum. Students toured the museum and learned about historical aircraft and the science of flight. They explored the concepts of thrust, drag, lift, and weight, and how these forces work together to allow both living and non-living objects to fly. Each group also had the opportunity to build a stomp rocket or a plane, which students were excited to share and demonstrate when they returned to school. Thank you to our parent volunteers who helped make this learning opportunity possible.
