Dear McKenzie Lake Families,

Get ready for an exciting few weeks ahead as we gear up for a series of celebrations and events at MLS!

First up, our Grade 2 students are set to dazzle us with their talents as they host an assembly this coming week. It's always a joy to see our young stars shine on stage!

Following that, mark your calendars for the Volunteer Tea happening the following week. We're looking forward to welcoming our dedicated volunteers and showing our appreciation for their invaluable contributions to our school community. Remember, we've extended the RSVP deadline to Wednesday, May 29, as noted in the Volunteer Tea email sent earlier.

Be sure to check out the "Coming Up" section for important dates regarding our upcoming Kindergarten and Grade 5 celebrations. These are events you won't want to miss!

In addition, our Grade 5 students are thrilled to announce the final total raised for their Social Action project, supporting the Salvation Army. Thanks to your incredible support in purchasing chips and popcorn, Mrs. Baxter's class has raised an amazing amount of money. Your generosity truly makes a difference in our community!

A Message from Mrs. Baxter’s Grade 5 Students

The Grade 5 class sold popcorn and chips during the month of April as our Social Action project. The money we raised will be given to the Salvation Army so they may buy musical instruments for their program. We raised $1249.90. We sold popcorn and chips every Wednesday for 4 weeks. The Grade 5 students had a lot of fun, and we are happy to know we are supporting a good cause.  That you for supporting our Social Action project!

CBE Bus Registration

Registration for transportation for 2024-2025 is now open.  It is important that families register for bussing prior to June 16, in order to ensure they are confirmed for transportation for the beginning of the year.  If you miss the registration deadline, it is most likely there will be delays (of up to 6 weeks) for transportation being available for your child(ren).

Clothing Request

We are seeking donations of used clothing for the office, to be used for students that need a change of clothing unexpectedly at school.  Often clothing gets wet or muddy, and students borrow an extra pair of clothes to save their parents from making an additional trip to the school.  If you have any items to donate, we are seeking the following:

Girls’ leggings (size 5-10)

Boys’ sweatpants/track pants (size 5-10)

            Long or short-sleeved t-shirts (size 5-10)

Sincerely,

Dayna McComish
