Dear McKenzie Lake Families,
Every year schools across Canada host Remembrance Day Assemblies to honor our veterans past and present. On November 8, our Grade 5 students did a wonderful job leading our Remembrance Day assembly. They demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication, modeling respect and solemnity while sharing the significance of this important date through their words, poems, and song. Students and staff also had the privilege of hearing Sailor First Class John Bauer's message, as he spoke about the importance of Remembrance Day and what it means to serve our country in both the past and present.
We hope that you and your family were able to find some time over the break to spend with each other while taking the time to reflect and honour those who fought and continue to fight, to make this one of the best countries in the world.
Purdy's Chocolate Fundraiser
Our School Council has set up a Purdy's Chocolate fundraiser, which will be open for orders until November 26. Chocolates will be delivered to the school before winter break.

Parent Conferences November 23 & 24
Our Conference booking opens for families on Wednesday, November 15 at 3:00pm. The link is www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe
A Parent Account is required to login to “My Conferences" through Power School. However, you only need to create an account the first time you use the system. If you have never registered in the booking system, use the link above. There is “Help" at the bottom of the page.

Book your Conferences
The Conferences are set up for Grade 1-5 and Kindergarten separately. You will have to select each schedule separately if you have a child in Kindergarten and in Grade 1-5.
Select the teacher with whom you want to book conferences. You will see the teacher's schedule. After booking your appointments, you can print off your schedule. You can log into the system at any time to view your bookings, print, cancel or re-schedule appointments.
Kindergarten Conference Times
Thursday, November 23 – Conferences from 8:15 – 10:45 AM, 12:00 – 2:15 PM and 3:30 – 6:45 PM (No School for Kindergarten Students)

Friday, November 24 – Conferences from 8:00 – 12:00 PM (No School for Students)
*Ms. Frey conferences available
Grades 1-5 Conference Times
Thursday, November 23 – Conferences from 3:30 – 6:45 PM

Teachers will connect with families directly to schedule dates/times for conference. There will not be online booking of conferences for these students.
