Dear MLS Families,

Students were very excited to visit the Scholastic Book Fair this past week. We would like to extend a big thank-you to Mrs. Knox and all of the wonderful volunteers who helped organize our first Book Fair of the year. Our second Book Fair will take place during the week of March Parent Conferences and will be open for parents to shop before or after their scheduled conference times.

As we look ahead to next week, the mornings are expected to be much colder than what we’ve experienced so far. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather so they are prepared to go outside. Students go outdoors for recess unless the temperature—with windchill—is colder than –20°C.

Winter Concert

Our Grade 4 and 5 students are excited to perform for their families this coming Thursday at our Winter Concert. Please note the following:

  • December 11 – 1:00 p.m. performance (no ticket required)
  • December 11 – 6:00 p.m. performance (ticket required)

Each Grade 4/5 family will receive two tickets for the evening performance. Tickets will be sent home on Monday, December 8. The afternoon performance is open to all and does not require a ticket.


Food Bank Drive

Our Grade 5 students have organized a Food Bank Drive, and we encourage families to bring a donation either next week or when attending the Winter Celebration. Donations will be accepted until December 16.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.


Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found remains at the front entrance of the school, and parents are encouraged to stop by and retrieve any recognized items. Unclaimed items will be donated during the week of December 15.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches

  • Our next Fun Lunch will be Subway on Thursday, December 18
  • Deadline to order is Saturday, December 13th at midnight.
  • If your child is absent, please contact the school office by 12:00 PM to arrange pick-up of their lunch.
  • Orders can be placed at www.healthyhunger.ca

 

Attendance 

It is important that you inform the school if your child is going to be absent or arriving late. Please report all absences to the Attendance Line at 403-777-6500 ext. 1 or email: mlsattendance@cbe.ab.ca.
