Dear MLS Families,

Today we wrapped up another incredible school year at McKenzie Lake School. Our school community gathered together in the gym one final time to celebrate the year, say farewell to staff and students who are moving on to new schools and opportunities, and revisit the many memories we've shared with a year-end video.

We also had the privilege of celebrating Mrs. Staples and Mrs. Finnan as they begin their well-earned retirement. We thank them for their years of dedication and the lasting impact they have had on our school community, and we wish them all the very best in this exciting new chapter.

Thank you to our amazing students, families, and staff for making this school year such a memorable one. Your support, partnership, and commitment have helped make McKenzie Lake School a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Wishing you all a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer filled with family, friends, and adventure. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall!

2026-2027 - Assigned Teachers 

Grade 1-5 Students

You will receive an email from your child's teacher at 3:00pm on Friday, August 28, 2026. Teachers will provide specific information about their assigned morning meeting spot for the first day of school. Please be patient when waiting for their email.

Kindergarten Students

The first two days of kindergarten, on Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st we will have staggered entry.  Your child will be attending for 1 hour and 20 minutes on these days. Their assigned time slots are based on last name. 

The first week of school is an opportunity for the kindergarten teachers to get to know each student, and work towards creating balanced class lists. 

On the afternoon of Friday, September 4 you will receive email confirmation of your child’s official homeroom teacher, effective Tuesday, September 8.
