Dear MLS Families,
Our Grade 1 students did a fantastic job during their Celebration of Learning this week. We were so impressed with how they memorized their speaking parts and confidently shared them with the audience using the microphone. It was also heartwarming to see audience members encourage those who were feeling a little nervous with extra applause and support. Through poems, songs, and even spoon-playing, students kept everyone engaged and entertained, finishing with a Cree song that invited audience participation. It was truly a wonderful celebration of learning — well done, Grade 1 students!
On Wednesday evening, we welcomed the Graduating Class of 2039 during our Kindergarten Orientation. It was wonderful to see so many families attend and to witness the excitement of next year's kindergarten students as they explored their future school and prepared for this important milestone.
All kindergarten students have now officially experienced their first field trip! They enjoyed a day at Granary Road, participating in the Wetlands, Orchard, and Farm Friends Guided Program. The excitement began with the bus ride and continued throughout the day as students explored and learned together. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the parent volunteers who helped make this experience possible. We would also like to thank our School Council for covering the cost of bus transportation, helping to reduce expenses for families and support enriching learning opportunities for our students.
The coming week is expected to bring plenty of rain. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for wet weather and outdoor recesses. We also recommend that students keep an extra pair of socks and pants in their backpacks, just in case they need them.
Sincerely,
Ms. Dayna McComish
