Dear MLS Families,

We would like to wish all our families a Happy Thanksgiving weekend! We hope you have an opportunity to gather with family and friends and take time to appreciate all the big and small things we have to be thankful for.

As students return on Tuesday, the mornings will be cooler, and we ask that you ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Students go outside for both morning and lunch recess throughout the fall and winter months.  Unless the temperature reaches -20°C with the wind chill, students will continue to enjoy outdoor fresh-air breaks. Please ensure your child comes to school prepared with the appropriate outerwear to stay warm and comfortable.

We would also like to remind families who drive their children to and from school to please prioritize safety over convenience. Our Grade 5 patrols are outside supporting students and community members as they cross McKenzie Lake Way at the crosswalk. Please observe all parking regulations and ensure vehicles are parked at least 5 metres away from the crosswalk. This distance is essential to maintaining clear visibility for our patrollers, pedestrians and drivers, helping everyone cross safely.
