Dear MLS Families,
We’ve had a wonderful start to the 2025-2026 school year, warmly welcoming both returning and new families. Our community now includes families from McKenzie Lake, Rangeview, Heartwood, and Richardo, as well as overflow families from Cranston School residing in Seton.
To kick off the year, each teacher introduced students to our anchor text, The Circles All Around Us. This story beautifully teaches young children about community, empathy, and inclusion by showing how our personal circles of family, friends, and neighbors expand to include others. It encourages kindness and illustrates that while welcoming new people can sometimes feel uncomfortable, it ultimately creates a more connected and compassionate world. The book is a valuable tool for fostering social-emotional learning, exploring feelings, and sparking meaningful conversations about diversity and acceptance. (Click here to listen to the story)
Students have quickly settled into routines and enjoyed reconnecting with friends while making new ones. We look forward to welcoming families to our Open House on Thursday, September 18. This event will give your child the chance to give you a tour of the school and introduce you to their classroom and teacher. Please mark your calendars—the doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
